Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint review 101

About:
Ghost Recon Breakpoint's Gamescom 2019 presence was felt across the world, as Ubisoft debuted a trailer for their upcoming PvP game mode, their take on the battle royale craze and a major update to the multiplayer mode in the previous title. We've got more details on that below, but first, what is the game about?
The breakpoint will build on Ghost Recon Wildlands by bringing a military survival aspect into play, and putting more focus on what it’s like to be out in the field under constant threat. It also promises to deliver a deeper story and more tactical approaches than ever before. Moving away from Bolivia in Wildlands to an island called Auroa that’s home to a Skell technology facility, you crash your helicopter and have to survive the unforgiving landscapes and an enemy threat. Oh, and did we mention The Walking Dead and Punisher’s Jon Bernthal will be causing all sorts of trouble for you with his rogue band of Ghosts known as the Wolves? Yep, Bernthal plays the villain Colonel Cole D. Walker, and you better watch out because he’s “a Ghost too”.
What's NEW:

Ghost Recon Breakpoint will offer a revamped PvP mode

While Ghost Recon Wildlands did have a PvP mode called Ghost War, it was admittedly an afterthought. Breakpoint is completely revamping the Ghost War based on community feedback and what Ubisoft learned after building Wildlands. We got a chance to go hands-on with the new PvP mode ahead of the beta
It's still the same 4v4 mode that we saw in Wildlands, but with a litany of improvements that are set to make it way more satisfying, including a completely remodeled class system, shared progression across solo, co-op and PvP modes, and a whole set of PvP-specific maps.
That and the promise of two game types (Elimination and Sabotage) promises to make Ghost Recon Breakpoint an engaging multiplayer experience.

GAME DETAILS

MILITARY SURVIVAL

Experience life as a Ghost, an elite US Special Operations soldier, as you fight back from behind enemy lines on the toughest mission of your career.

INJURY SYSTEM

Now when your Ghost takes damage they may also become injured. These injuries will slow you down and reduce your combat effectiveness requiring additional time and resources to heal your Ghost back up to peak fighting condition.

TERRAIN AND STAMINA

The world of Auroa will push your Ghost to their limits. Steep slopes will make you slip and fall, traversing water or snow will slow you down. Properly managing your stamina will be essential to surviving and fighting back.

THE BIVOUAC

Trapped behind enemy lines The Bivouac is a temporary camp where you and your fellow Ghosts will rest and prepare for the next mission. Clean your weapons, change classes, craft items, upgrade gear, and more. Then select desired time of day and weather before venturing back out.

BUDDY CARRY

Leave no man behind. When an ally is down and needs help, instead of giving medical attention in the middle of a firefight, you can quickly sling them over your shoulder and move to safety to get them back on their feet.

STEALTH

Use all your training and skills to infiltrate or evade your enemies as they hunt you without mercy.

PRONE BLENDING

As a Ghost you can disappear into your environment making you nearly invisible to your enemies. Use this feature to set up an ambush or avoid detection when cover is not available.

ADVANCED ENEMY AI

The Wolves and their allies are experienced elite soldiers and will communicate amongst themselves to hunt you down if detected. With a wide variety of AI archetypes and behaviors, no two encounters will be the same.

ADAPTIVE COVER

An adaptive cover system will automatically match your Ghost’s body position to available cover and execute advanced tactics, such as leaning to aim around corners.
